What is Sahaja Yoga?
Sahaja yoga literally means spontaneous union with God. Every human being has the potential to awaken and ascend spiritually. Sahaja yoga facilitates this process. It was founded by Mataji Nirmala Devi. Sahaja yoga is a natural and spontaneous process. It helps to awaken the dormant Kundalini power that lies coiled at the bottom of the spine. When the Kundalini arises and reaches the top of the head, self-realization occurs.
Seven Energy Centers
All of us have seven energy centers (chakras) within us. They take care of our physical, mental and emotional health. When the Kundalini rises through the six energy centers and reaches the top of the head, a person starts to feel calm, relaxed and full of joyful life.
State of Self-Realization
What happens when we are self-realized? The rising Kundalini creates a state, which can be described as thoughtless awareness. Our monkey mind is seldom in the present moment. It is always either regretting the past or fearful of the future. But, in self-realized persons there is a gap between the thoughts. In this gap, they experience complete silence. Thus, they live in the present without any negative feelings about the past or future.
